Attention Toronto photography lovers: I expect that many of you have been checking out this year’s Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival. If you have, I hope that you’ve had a chance to make it down to the Distillery District. A couple of days ago we posted our pics from the Arta Gallery and now here is a brief overview of the exibit at Julie M. Gallery (which is right across the path).

From the gallery’s website,

“Julie M. Gallery, established in 1975 in Tel Aviv by Julie Mamon, opened its second location in 2009 in Toronto’s Distillery District. The gallery is entirely committed to the materials of the here-and-now, dedicated to the intertwining of the worldwide and the local art scene.Julie M. Gallery is enjoying the benefits of representing an integration of selective young artists with well-established contemporary Israeli artists. Artists represented by the gallery are active in various fields of the visual arts, currently living, working & exhibiting both in Israel and abroad.”

We managed to sneak in just at the gallery and exhibition were closing and got a quick personal tour of the open-concept, minimal and very elegant space.

So, in case you missed it, here are some pics of the CONTACT Exhibition at Julie M.
