After we read the Tom Fords Essentials list , @djmddsc and I were so inspired we had to create something of our own. But, we did it with with a focus on summer. As the warm weather begins and with patio season right around the corner, these are the top 11 essentials you need.

11) The Original Wayfarer

No, not the new style with the skinny frames and the bright colours. The classic all black will never go out of style.

10) Desert Boots

They’re classy yet they still make you look like you don’t give a fuck. This “Slate Blue” pair happens to be the edition designed by Ronnie Fieg.

9) Woven/Fabric Belt

Nothing says, “I’m chillin” like a woven belt. There are literally hundreds of options here – from braided leather to all sorts of colour combos in canvas and other fabrics. Again, light-weight and colour are key. Leave your large buckle at home until Fall… and that whole “match your shoes and belt” thing? F*ck that noise… be creative and add some colour to your get-up. Remember, “the sun is shining and the living’s easy”.

8 ) “Self-Made Necklaces”

The best part about crafting something yourself is that you can be sure that no one else has it. It doesn’t have to be gold or silver or even shiny. It only has to be original.

7) Beach Appropriate Watch

A elegant time piece is always a must for evenings, but during the day (especially in the summer) you can afford a bit more creativity when it comes to your watch. Something sporty and light-weight is a must. Some colour is always a good idea to grab attention and add pop. Waterproof is a bonus if you plan on spending time by the beach or pool or if your drunk buddy decides that the best place for his fresh pint is on your lap.

6) Sperry Topsiders

There is currently no footwear better suited to go sock-less.

5) Bracelets

Load your wrist with as many bracelets as you can. All sorts of colours and types. If you think it looks good then you’re set.

4) Rings

A good ring can be hard to find but, if you do, you’ve already out dressed everyone else.

3) All Black Vans

Weezy said it best in Right above it, “skinny pants and some vans”. I’m not going to top that and I’m not going to try.

2) Don’t Forget Your Canon

A camera may not be an accessory, but it’s definitely essential in the summer.

1) #DJ

It still gets cold at night sometimes in the summer. For that, a #denimjacket or #denimvest is essential. They wear perfect with khakis, a tee or some all black jeans. I’m not going to go into too much detail because a #denimjacket is a whole other listography on its own.
