As a child
I built a sand castle of confidence
Made of sand, yes
But built as if it were bricks
Layered,
Tall,
And strong
Things change
Life moves forward
The Earth rotates
The moon and stars continue to shine as the stars continue to align
But, time is against me
The tide picks up
My sand castle of confidence on this beach.
Alone
The high tide exerts its powerful energy.
Crashing
Destroying…
This lonesome sand castle
Taking pieces of my heart and soul away with her
Away she goes
Just as quickly as she came
But now,
That once
Layered
Tall,
Brick strong like sand castle is gone
With nothing to show for itself,
Except this empty bottle, black notebook and pen
