I was randomly surfing the web and and actually paid attention to one of the side advertisements and came across bobble. Winner of the 2010 Spark Design & Architecture Award for product design, the wide array of colors really grabbed my attention. Although I couldn’t track down much about their company “Move Collective”, the product has been in development for about 2 years and was created with the hopes of providing a clean alternative to portable water while minimizing consumer costs. This curvy shaped bottle is a steal at less than $10 and comes in 3 sizes (13, 18.5 and 34 oz). Bobble’s are made of recycled Polyethylene terephthalate but their key feature is the reusable coal filter. Each filter has a slight positive-charge, and as water passes over the positively charged coal surface, it absorbs the negatively charged ions thereby removing the organic contaminants. The filters are good for a recommended 2 months, are recycleable and can be purchased from the website. The actual bobble bottle is reusable and simply needs to be cleaned after use like any bottle or cup you currently use. A very cool, green, idea that is helping to shrink our carbon footprint. Check out their site here which by the way is amazing and support this noble cause. – J
