I bring to you Britain’s own Strickland Banks aka Plan B. While not considered a household name on this side of the pond, Strickland has masterfully created a platinum selling album. The above version is the Nero Remix, which I had been bumpin in the background at work today, during the daily grind of my overly stimulated workplace. Once the synth/bass kicked at about 1:08, I was hooked. The beat is heavily techno, but vocals quite indie-mash-alternative meets Britain freestyle (if thats even English — no pun intended), which leads me to appreciate it on many different levels. The video however, pulls this song over the top. Not only is the remix’s premise amazing, but upon trackback (my normal musical process) I found out the production value for the original was actually pretty amazing. Check out both, definitely a must see.
