Minjae Lee is a young South Korean Artist whose work reflects an inner tension. The 19 year old’s art continues to evolve and improve with each new piece he creates. He seems to be solidifying his place for years to come. His slightly disturbing imagery is something you cant take your eyes off and makes you wonder about the feeling he was trying to create.

Minjae is mostly self-taught and uses some of the more simple tools. Markers, pens, crayons and acrylics are the main devices he uses to create his powerful colours and twisted imagery. His work has not yet broken into the commercial market but at such an astonishing rate of improvement, he will most likely have people coming to him soon.

While he is still only 19, his work that is graced with mostly beatific females reflects that of a much more mature individual. His understanding of emotions shows through his ability to express a sort of fragile beauty. The way he places lips, eyes and his shadowing seems as though it was completed by a seasoned artist.

Along with his precise work he is not shy to express whose work he admires. His favourite photographer is 55 year old Japanese Hiroshi Nonami. His favourite fashion designer just happens to be 49 year old John Galliano.
